rey daigle, cnm

rey (they/them) is a queer, non-binary, latinx, midwife based in brooklyn, ny. born in texas and raised primarily in northern new york, rey grew up in an ethnically mixed tejano family. rey is a firm believer in bodily autonomy, trans liberation, and reproductive justice.

after graduating college with a BA in anthropology and latin american & caribbean studies, rey became a doula and worked throughout NYC, providing support to families across the five boroughs in a variety of birth settings. they returned to school to pursue nursing and went on to work as a nurse in trans health for 8 years, specializing in gender affirming surgery, pre- and post-operative care.

rey was inspired to become a midwife to expand the ways in which they serve queer / trans folks and communities of color. they graduated from the nurse-midwifery program at NYU in 2024 after completing their clinical training at two NYC public hospitals and two private practices in brooklyn and the bronx. as a midwife, rey is committed to providing affirming, compassionate, person-centered and trauma-informed care to all people.

rey lives in brooklyn with their spouse, baby, and two cats. they can often be found lounging in the park, curled up with a cat and a book, baking a cake, or talking about queer fertility.
